Lesa, I...Shane, can I share that cloud with you???

Lesa, I have been reading a number of lists people made of their favorites so far in 2010. I looked back at my reads so far and was overwhelmed at the number of great books I've had already this year. If the second half of 2010 is as great, I'm in trouble for my final favorites list of the year. I already have over 10 that will contend for that list NOW. This has been one heck of a great reading year!Jen Forbushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13325129568512353951noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9995206.post-7978564210523832332010-08-01T09:04:40.951-05:002010-08-01T09:04:40.951-05:00I'm actually winnowing out my TBR pile, knowin...I'm actually winnowing out my TBR pile, knowing I'm not going to get to some of those books. Books that are just right can be very helpful; they really are "friends" at times.

Wanted to mention the Elly Griffiths' books also. "Crossing Places" is the first book about Ruth Galloway, an anthropology professor who lives on the east coast of England. She is a terrific middle-aged character who happens to stumble over a mystery. The book is very good and one learns some anthropological facts. The second book in this series is "The Janus Stone."

I don't know of a woman mystery lover who's read either or both of these books and didn't like them. I got the first from my local library and the second I ordered from the UK's Book Depository. They ship quickly and have good prices and--most importantly, ship FREE anywhere in the world. (I just discovered them and it's great and found out readers all over the globe order from them.)

My August reading vacation started early as I read through much of this past week and forgot about other tasks.kathy d.noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9995206.post-34850563815796367512010-07-31T15:11:21.326-05:002010-07-31T15:11:21.326-05:00And, I haven't read 13 Hours, Janet.
