Her musings on life, culture, men, books etc are sometimes funny, sometimes sad and often ring very true.

So now I'm reading Thursdays In the Park by Hilary Boyd, which has been much celebrated here in the UK as a romance focusing on older people (though the heroine is only just 60). I think it's well written and I do want to find out what happens to several of the characters, but must admit to being a tad irritated by the fact that every one of them is well-heeled "Oh you know money isn't an issue", glamorous, etc. I know characters need conflict, but the most this lot have to deal with is shall I stay with my millionaire husband or leave him for this amazing (and rich) man who's turned up in the park? Shall I move to a mansion in the countryside or stay in my enormous house in Highgate (v affluent part of north London - think Hampstead Heath). Still, I'm going to finish it to find out what happens, and it is an easy read.

RosemaryRosemarynoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9995206.post-40366191598140236302013-03-15T08:44:54.949-05:002013-03-15T08:44:54.949-05:00I'm about 100 pages into Ghostman by Rogers Ho...I'm about 100 pages into Ghostman by Rogers Hobbs.
