Winners and February Thrillers

Congratulations to the winners of the last giveaway. Bill A. from Madison, IN won The Vanishing Man, and Glen D. of Yuba City, CA won The Killer Collective. The books are going out in the mail today.

This week, I'm giving away books that just came out last month. Watcher in the Woods by Kelley Armstrong features Casey Duncan and the secret town of Rockton, a secret location where criminals and victims can find refuge within its Yukon borders. Casey Duncan, the only detective on the small police force of three, doesn't think it's possible for an outsider to locate the town and cause trouble. When a US Marshal shows up demanding the release of one of the residents, but won't say who, Casey is skeptical. Yet only hours later, the marshal is shot dead and the only possible suspects are the townspeople and Casey's estranged sister, smuggled into town to help with a medical emergency.

Ausma Zehanat Khan also takes us north in A Deadly Divide. In the aftermath of a mass shooting at a mosque in Quebec, local police apprehended a young Muslim man at the scene helping the wounded, but release the local priest who was found with a weapon in his hands. The shooting looks like a hate crime, but detective Esa Khattak and Rachel Getty sense there's more to the story. They were sent to liaise with a community in the grip of fear, fueled by the panic and suspicion exploited by a right-wing radio host.

Which book would you like to win? You can enter to win both, but I need separate entries. Email me at Your subject line should read either "Win Watcher in the Woods" or "Win A Deadly Divide." Please include your name and mailing address. The giveaway will end Thursday, March 21 at 5 PM CT. Entries from the U.S. only, please.
