Congratulations to the winners of last week's contests. Hannah Reed's Hooked on Ewe will go to Jeannette M. from Ventura, CA. Jane R. of Driftwood, TX won Paul Levine's Bum Rap. And, Sue F. of Crosslake, MN will receive James O. Born's Scent of Murder.
Do you want to win a crime novel featuring a dog or a cat this week? The Josie Prescott Antiques mystery, Blood Rubies by Jane K. Cleland, features the cat. Josie is supposed to appear on a reality TV show to appraise a spectacular Faberge snow globe. But, when Josie arrives for the show, she finds a murder victim and a smashed snow globe. Cleland combines mystery and antiques expertise.
Just look at that face on David Rosenfelt's Hounded. Rosenfelt brings us a story about family and a legal thriller. Lawyer Andy Carpenter gets a strange call from a friend, a policeman asking him to drop everything and bring his girlfriend to an unfamiliar address. That address is a crime scene where his friend, Pete, wants them to take care of an eight-year-old boy and his pet basset hound. The boy is now orphaned, and Pete is under suspicion for the death of the boy's father, an ex-convict. Pete needs Andy to take care of the boy, the dog, and represent him.
Dog or cat? You can enter to win both, but I need separate entries. Email me at Lesa.Holstine@gmail.com. Your subject heading should read either "Win Blood Rubies" or "Win Hounded." Please include your name and mailing address. The contest will end Thursday, July 16 at 6 PM CT. Entries from the U.S. only, please.
