What Are You Reading?

The weather was lousy yesterday, and we were really lucky it's now a little lighter at 5 p.m. so we didn't have to drive home after dark. I never did like driving in snow, ice or slush, but after all those years in Florida and Arizona, I'm certainly not comfortable driving in nasty weather. So, too tense to settle down and read last night. I'm reading Sarah-Kate Lynch's  The Wedding Bees. But, I'd like to know what you're reading.

Tell me what you're reading during this worse winter in memory.

We're having a mix snow changing to freezing rain today in NJ. I just finished Glory's Last Victim by Joy e Lavene. I'm going to try The Sound and the Fury by Spencer Quinn next.

I'm nearing the end of A Plain Murder by Emma Miller. It's been quite good so far. We're supposed to get hit with a couple of days of snow, freezing rain, etc. so, yesterday we stocked up on food and first of the month books. Being retired, we're prepared to wait it out.

i just finished Through the Evil Days by Julia Spencer-Fleming. It was so perfect for a cold evening (can't even compare Asheville's situation to yours, Lesa, but to a gal from Southern California, it's c-o-o-o-l-d!).

The sun is shining today, so I'm headed outside to walk to Malaprop's used bookstore, Downtown Books and News to stock up! No better way, in my mind, to spend the day, sunny or otherwise.

I'm hoping today I can finish Killing Cupid by Laura Levine.

And I'm praying we get rain. Send us your precipitation (just without the cold please). We are facing a drought yet again, which means that fire season will be especially brutal this fall.

We're iced in here! It's beautiful, but dangerous.

My most recent read was Beth Kephart's"Nest, Flight. Sky.: On love and loss, one wing at a time" and it was a treasure.

Leighton Gage THE WAYS OF EVIL MEN. As always, Gage's book stands strongly on the side of compassion and justice. It also starkly portrays human evil.

It's been interesting to see what you're reading, and what your weather is like. I envy you who don't have to drive in this weather, whether retired or working at home. I don't envy you, Mark, with the comments about the dry fire season.

I am reading "Goldfinch" by Donna Tartt. It has 771 pages and I am on page 299 now. I have a long way to go. I liked the book at first, right now I am not liking it as much. Hope I will be changing my mind soon.

I just finished The Seance Society by Michael Nethercott. Quite enjoyable! Now I'm reading the latest Charles Lenox book, An Old Betrayal by Charles Finch. So far it's grabbed my attention and I love the way he writes.

Thank you so much, everyone! You don't know how much I enjoy seeing what everyone is reading.

Lots of mysteries! Just started A Serpent's Tooth by Craig Johnson as the temps tumble down below zero, again!

Warmer today and I was out on the back porch for a little while reading NIGHTZONE by Steven F. Havill. I love this series and am about halfway through this book which came out last fall.

Weekend is supposed to be clear and dry but they are threatening us here in my part of North Texas with that evil three letter word for Monday and Tuesday---ICE!

You're right, holdenj. Lots of good mysteries, including the one you're reading and the one Kevin Tipple is reading. And, Kevin? Fell today on that evil word ICE. Be careful if you have to go anyplace.

I fall on a fairly regular basis and don't need the help of the evil ice. Hope you are okay.
