What Are You Reading?

I spent last evening preparing for the first of four workshops I'm leading about book discussions. Everyone had to read the Sherlock Holmes story "A Scandal in Bohemia". I had to reread it, and prepare for the first half of the class leading up to the book discussion. Wish me luck with the workshop!

So, you know I was actually reading a short story last night. What are you reading this week? Is it something so you can pretend you're not in a cold climate? Something fun? Would you drop us a line to tell us what you're reading?

Enjoy the workshop. I'm halfway through Billionaire Blend by Cleo Coyle. It's really good.

I am about 2/3 through John Straley's newest, COLD STORAGE, ALASKA. It's taking me a while because I keep re-reading and savoring sections - I don't want this book to end or these characters to go away. Even if it does take place in Alaska and I'm longing for warm weather.

Last night I finished Magnus Flyte's City of Lost Dreams. I read it in two days after just having read City of Dark Magic. I really didn't expect to like the books, but the authors definitely drew me into Sarah's world. I enjoyed both!

I'm reading Company Man by Joseph Finder and the ARC Glitter and Glue by Kelly Corrigan.

Good luck with your book discussion

Hi everyone! Thanks for sharing what you're reading. Actually, the workshop went well because of people just like you - readers. I had a couple patrons with all the staff in the workshop, and it was good to hear what they had to say. So, thanks for telling me what you're reading. I appreciate it.

"After Shock" by Andrew Vachss was very good. Grim subject matter and cryptic writing somehow turned into a book I could not put down. I haven't read his books for years but will try them again.

Not a mystery, but the next pick for my book club: Weekends with Daisy. True story about a woman who helps train a service dog. The service program uses inmates to train puppies during the week and relies on regular folks to socialize and train them on the weekends. Easy, fast, entertaining read! Plus, the puppy is lovable, eager-to-please, floppy-eared lab.

I am reading two books as usual: The Philadelphia Chromosome by Jessica Wapner. It is an exciting history of finding a treatment for Chronic Myelond Leukemia and Scent of Lilacs by Ann Gabhardt.
The last book is very difficult to stop reading!
