Winners and a Cops Giveaway

Congratulations to the winners of the last contest. Spencer Quinn's The Sound and the Furry will go to Gina D. in Jacksonville, NC. The Cat Sitter's Cradle by Blaize and John Clement will go to Bonnie P. of Palo Alto, CA. The books will go out today.

This week, I'm giving away two crime novels involving cops. Three Can Keep a Secret is Archer Mayor's
latest Joe Gunther novel. In the wake of Hurricane Irene, the police from one end of Vermont to another are taxed to their limits, leaving Gunther and his team from the Vermont Bureau of Investigation involved in an old, seemingly unrelated series of cases involving two corpses, one escaped mental patient, and a long-held secret that binds them together.

Or you could win David Hunter's Tempest at the Helm involving the fascinating Chief of Detectives Shiloh Tempest. Temporarily left in charge of the Knox County Sheriff's Department, he was warned not to arrest the mayor while the sheriff is gone. It's too bad the mayor's wife is murdered in the middle of the night.

Which crime novel would you like to win, Three Can Keep a Secret or Tempest at the Helm? You can enter to win both, but I need separate entries. Email me at Your subject heading should read either "Win Three Can Keep a Secret" or "Win Tempest at the Helm." Please include your name and mailing address. Entries from the U.S. only, please.

The contest will end Thursday, Nov. 7 at 6 p.m. CT.

I have enjoyed Archer Mayor's series, although, as with most, it has become darker with each book.

Thanks, Karen. Have you read this one yet, Liz? Just curious.
