Winners and Murder in Cold Lands Giveaway

Congratulations to the three winners of last week's contests. Kathy G. of Warsaw, IN won Eugenia Price's Savannah. Denise Swanson's Murder of a Stacked Librarian goes to Shirley W. of Victoria, TX. And, Sue F. from Crosslake, MN won Leigh Perry's Skeleton in the Family. The books will all go out in the mail tomorrow.

This week, I'm giving away two books set in cold lands. Yesterday, readers were talking about Dana Stabenow's books. Today, I"m giving away a copy of  Bad Blood, a Kate Shugak novel. There has been bad blood between two Alaskan villages for a hundred years, but one unexplained death could ignite a war. When a second murder that looks like payback occurs, it's up to private investigator Kate Shugak and Sergeant Jim Chopin to find the truth, while a killer remains at large, on their trail.

Or, you could win Swedish author Anna Jansson's international bestseller Strange Bird. Discover the first of the Maria Wern police detective mysteries to be published in English. When a bird flu epidemic pandemic breaks out in Gotland, panic spreads, and people start to look for scapegoats. It isn't long before extremist and anti-immigrant groups gain ground while a hospital nurse makes a gruesome discovery that will cost her her life. Detective Inspector Maria Wern is the perfect one to solve the crime.

Which book do you want to win? You can enter to win both, but I need separate entries. Email me at Your subject heading should read either "Win Bad Blood" or "Win Strange Bird." Please include your name and mailing address. Entries from the U.S. only, please.

The contest will end Thursday, Oct. 17 at 6 p.m. CT.

Sue, I didn't have time to send it out, what with packing to get ready for my weekend. But, I mailed the books!
