What are you reading?

I went to Owensboro, Kentucky to hear Tess Gerritsen last night, so I didn't have time to read or blog. Tomorrow, I'll have the recap of Tess' talk. In the meantime, I'm about to start Carl Brookins' latest mystery,  The Case of the Purloined Painting. Let's talk about what you're reading. Oh, and I had a better talk in the car tonight about Lorna Landvik's Angry Housewives Eating Bon Bons than we did at the book discussion group. We got sidetracked, and the discussion didn't go well. What book are you reading? Do you want to tell us about it?

Dad is Fat. Because Linda recommended it. I am checking the freezer for Hot Pockets.

Oh, that's funny, Christie. I read it, too, because Linda recommended it. I don't have any Hot Pockets there. I used to eat them once in a while but decided they tasted too much like cardboard. And I always seemed to burn my tongue on them.

I'm reading The Beginner's Goodbye by Anne Tyler and loving it so far.

I'm not familiar with Suzanne Johnson, Sandy. Beth, I've read some of Anne Tyler's, and enjoyed them. But, I haven't read the most recent ones. I'm glad you're loving it!

I'm halfway through Anne Hillerman's Spider Woman's Daughter and really enjoying it. Anne has beautifully managed and continued her dad's legacy in capturing the Southwest people and landscape, not to mention the characters' continuity.

TFJ, I'm so glad you're enjoying Spider Woman's Daughter. She did a good job with the book, didn't she?

Slightly heavy reading there, Page.

I'm reading The Diabolist by Layton Green, a book I won on Goodreads. Quite intersting so far.

I am going to start three books. Have a deadline for a review on Dark Biology (science fiction). That will be my first time to read in that genre and was reluctant to try it but will do it. Also Monica Ferris's Blackwork (my pick for a Halloween theme and Lies Agreed Upon by Katherine Sharma. I am a little afriad of it! The print is so tiny. My eyes start to cross after reading for a while and then they hurt. Starting to try to screen for small print now. A lot of times I can't tell until I have the book.

Trying again. I have a hard time leaving a comment, Lesa, because of your anti-robot scribbles - I can't figure them out half the time!

Anyway, I'm rereading The Witness by Nora Roberts - a really fun book about a very smart girl hiding from mobsters.

That was me, Judith. Sorry, the name got erased during the scribble kerfuffle.
