Winners and a Friends Giveaway

Congratulations to the winners of the last contests. Brian B. of Brockton, MA won Clea Simon's Grey Expectations, while Samdra W. from Trumbull, CT won a copy of Cats Can't Shoot. Clea will send the books to the winners. And, Pat S. of Farmington, NM won a copy of Cathy Maxwell's Regency romance, When Dreams Come True. The publicist will be sending that book.

This week, I have books by two authors who are friends. Brad Parks recently appeared for Authors @ The Teague. He autographed an ARC of The Girl Next Door, his latest book. If you haven't yet met Carter Ross, the investigative reporter for the Newark Eagle-Examiner, now is your chance. While Ross covers serious subjects for the newspaper, he himself manages to keep a sense of humor. These are gritty, witty mysteries, and I'd love to introduce Carter Ross, and his creator, Brad Parks, to a new reader.

Sophie Littlefield is a friend of Brad's. Sophie's book, A Bad Day for Scandal, has just been released in trade paperback, and I have a copy to give to one lucky winner. Stella Hardesty, a tough widow who takes justice into her own hands, refuses to be blackmailed by Priss, an uppity woman she never liked. But, when Priss and her brother go missing, Stella has to clear her own name. This is another series that successfully combines humor and mystery, although the humor is a little broader in Sophie's books than in Brad's.

So, you have your choice, The Girl Next Door, or A Bad Day for Scandal. You can enter to win both, but I need separate entries. Email me at You subject heading should read either, "Win The Girl Next Door" or "Win A Bad Day for Scandal." Please include your name and mailing address. Entries from the U.S. only, please.

The contest will end Thursday night, April 19 at 6 p.m. PT. I'll announce the winners then. Good luck!
