Winners and a Giveaway of the Arts

Congratulations to the winners of the Parisian contest. Candace L. of Brunswick, ME won Claude Izner’s The Assassin in the Marais, and Kaye B. of Boone, NC won Cara Black’s Murder in Passy. The books will go out in the mail tomorrow.

This week, the books will take winners into the world of the arts, opera and theater. Her Deadly Mischief by Beverle Graves Myers takes readers back to Venice in 1742 when Tito Amato is singing lead roles at the Teatro San Marco. Tito is the only one to witness a masked man push a woman from a fourth-tier box. He’s willing to aid the police, but his problems mount when the masked killer transfers his attention to Tito’s family. This book is an ARC (advanced reading copy).

Or, you could win Sharon Fiffer’s Backstage Stuff. Jane Wheel’s best friend, Tim, unearthed a murder mystery play that he’s dying to put on. Tim doesn’t believe the play is cursed, as many do, but one death indicates someone might not want the show to go on.

Do you want to win Her Deadly Mischief or Backstage Stuff, opera or theater? You can enter to win both, but I need separate entries. Email me at  The subject lines should read, either "Win Her Deadly Mischief" or "Win Backstage Stuff.” Include your name and mailing address in the body of the email.  Entries only from the U.S., please.

The contest will close Thursday, October 28 at 6 PM PT when I'll draw the winners using a random number generator. I'll notify the winners, and I'll mail the books the next day.
