Winners and Thriller Week

I'm sorry. I'll have to announce the winners of the last contest tomorrow morning. I went to the Poisoned Pen tonight to see Rebecca Cantrell, author of A Game of Lies, so I'm not home to draw the winners.

Winners - The winners are: Sandy J. of Ludington, MI for Carolyn Haines' Bones of a Feather, and Judith L. of Claremont, CA for Sticky Fingers by Nancy Martin. Thanks for your patience!

That won't stop me from announcing the next giveaway, thrillers by two wonderful writers.
Long Gone is Alafair Burke's first standalone. What happens when a woman shows up for work one morning, and her entire professional life is gone? Alice Humphrey is the manager of a small gallery until she arrives at work to find the gallery gone, stripped bare, except for the body of the corporate representative who hired her. And, all evidence in the murder points to Alice.

Or you could win Fallen, Karin Slaughter's terrific new thriller. Everything the Georgia Bureau of Investigations taught Faith Mitchell takes second seat when she arrives at her mother's to find the door open, a bloody handprint, and her mother, an ex-cop, missing. Faith isn't allowed on the investigation team, but that won't stop her from trying to find her mother.

Which thriller would you like to win? You can enter to win both books, but I need separate entries. Email me at  The subject lines should read, either "Win Long Gone" or "Win Fallen".  Include your name and mailing address in the body of the email.  Entries only from the U.S., please.

The contest will close Thursday, July 21 at 6 PM PT when I'll draw the winners using a random number generator.  The books will go out in the mail on Friday.  Good luck!

Thank you, Alafair. Had a blast with Rebecca. She's so much fun. Who knew four of us would stay so late we'd close down an ice cream parlor? Too much laughter, and we never noticed the time.
