Gift cards, anyone?  If you're getting book gift cards for Christmas or any other holiday, I have a few book suggestions.  These are all cozy mysteries coming from Berkley Prime Crime and Obsidian in January.  (And, if the blog isn't showing the complete video, don't hesitate to check out the video at YouTube, under lholstine.)

Happy Holidays & Happy Reading!

I can't wait to read Buttercream Bumpoff - the first book in the series was a great start. Julie Hyzy's new book was in my mailbox this week and is another one that has been highly anticipated. Have a great week, Lesa, and happy reading.

Lesa, thank you!!
I just love your videos - thank you so much for including Buffalo West Wing. I haven't received my author copies yet (any day now, I hope) so it's really great to see that the final book is really out there! Hope you enjoy reading. Thank you, Lesa, you're the best!

Lesa, how wonderful to feature so many fabulous writers and great series. I'm looking forward to all, and like Riley and the others, these are my friends, so it's a thrill to see them reviewed so favorably.

Good reading to all. Say cheese!

Lots to look forward to for January! I'm especially looking forward to Julie Hyzy's new one. But I have a complaint about the video: no kitties in it this time!

Accidentally deleted my own response to Kaye. (grin) Trying to do too much all at once. I'm looking forward to both those books, Kaye.

Congratulations, Mary, on the third book in the talk radio series. I haven't read one yet, but, with a Florida setting, I'm going to as soon as I get a chance.

Julie,

Your book is gorgeous! I love the cover. And, I'm sure the inside is just as good. (smile) My mom arrives Wed., and leaves Dec.28. I'm looking forward to picking it up then.

Avery,

I'm so glad Penguin sends me these books. It gives me the chance to see the Berkley Prime Crime and Obsidian releases, and showcase them here. Terrific books & authors!

Thank you, Caridad! I hope you come back to check out the reviews in January.

I'm sorry about that, Ingrid. I thought we were going to have a gorgeous video with a black cat against that red background because Jinx was on the table while I was getting ready. But, he decided it was more fun under the tablecloth than on it, so I lost my star. The January books had to stand on their own.

My pleasure, Jenn! I'm glad you like that idea. Well, think how many people here might be getting book gift cards, and need ideas!

I can't wait for the Victoria Laurie book or Buttercream Bumpoff. I thought the first in the cupcake series was a lot of fun and have been looking forward to the 2nd. And of course Victoria Laurie is one of my favorite cozy authors.

Kris,

I'm so pleased different authors & series have their fans here. It's especially nice to see fans of Buttercream Bumpoff because Jenn is a local librarian, who writes about our local area. (And, her next series will feature a librarian, although it won't be set here.)
