Winners and A Little on the Light Side Contest

Congratulations to the winners of the last contest.  This time, there were some unusual winners, two readers named Karen.  And, I had my first winner from Alaska.   Cleo Coyle will send Roast Mortem to Karen L. of Anchorage, Alaska .  I'll put the ARC of Elizabeth J. Duncan's A Brush with Death in the mail tomorrow, sending it to Karen B. from Bloomington, MN .

This week, I'm giving away two mysteries that are on the light side.  Stork Raving Mad is the twelfth book in Donna Andrews' Meg Langslow series.  Meg is eight and a half months pregnant with twins when Michael asks if they can have a houseguest, a Spanish playwright whose play is being directed by a student.  When a college dean orders the play cancelled, and ends up dead, it's up to Meg to save the student's production, Michael's tenure, and help the police find a killer, all before she delivers twins.

Bone Appetit by Carolyn Haines takes southern P.I. Sarah Booth Delaney to a luxurious spa and cooking school.   Since her best friend, Tinkie, knew she needed a break, Sarah's going to enjoy every bit of the pampering and food.  And, the beauty contest/cook-off to find a spa spokesperson adds to the fun, until the top contender is poisoned.  Hired to clear a suspect's name, Sarah Booth and Tinkie must work their way through swimsuit competitions and deadly cooking.

This will be my last giveaway for a couple weeks, since I'll be away.  Check back in September for the next contest.  In the meantime, take your chances on winning either Stork Raving Mad or Bone Appetit.  You can enter to win both, but I need separate entries. Email me at Email me!. If that link doesn't work for you, the email address is: Your subject line should read either "Win Stork" or "Win Bone Appetit." Your message should include your mailing address. Entrants only in the U.S., please.

The contest will end Thursday, Aug. 19 at 6 p.m. PT. The winners will be selected by random number generator. I'll notify the winners and mail the books the next day. Good luck!

Have a great vacation! And hope Jinx stays away from crime scenes while you're away.

Oh, geez, kathy. I never even thought of that. A co-worker is house and cat-sitting. I'll have to warn her about Jinx. (grin) Thank you.

Read A Brush with Death last night - loved it and have put The Cold Light of Mourning on my wish list. Nice to see that 50+ ladies can solve a mystery - and have a romantic involvement - as well as all those young ladies 50 and under!

Hi Karen!

I'm so glad you loved A Brush with Death. It is nice to see mature women as sleuths, with a little romance, isn't it? You'll like The Cold Light of Mourning as well.
