Winners and Give Me a B Contest

Congratulations to the winners of the latest contest. Catherine Corman's Daylight Noir: Raymond Chandler's Imagined City will go to Keith H. from Blaine, WA. Dark Places by Gilliam Flynn goes to Karrie M. from Cape Coral, FL. The books will go out in the mail tomorrow.

This week, it's a Give Me a B contest. When I went to the Poisoned Pen Bookstore this week to hear Nevada Barr, I bought a copy of my favorite Anna Pigeon mystery, Firestorm, and had it autographed. You can read this book even if you haven't read other Anna Pigeon stories. Ranger Anna Pigeon is part of the team fighting the fire raging through thousands of acres around California's Lassen Volcanic National Park. She's also part of the team that emerges from protective tents to find two men killed.

Or, you could win James R. Benn's Blood Alone. Billy Boyle, a Boston cop, is on General Eisenhower's staff during World War II. Boyle landed in Sicily in advance of the Main Allied forces, but wakes up in a field hospital with amnesia.

You can win an autographed copy of Firestorm, or a copy of Blood Alone. You can enter to win both, but I need separate entries for each. If you'd like to win one, email me at Email me!. If that link doesn't work for you, the email address is: Your subject line should read either Win "Firestorm" or Win "Blood Alone." Your message should include your mailing address. Entrants only in the U.S., please.

The contest will end Thursday, Oct. 8 at 6 p.m. PT. Jim will draw the winners at that time. The winners will be notified, and the books will go out in the mail on Friday. Good luck!
