Congratulations to the winners of the last contest. Virginia D. of Tempe, AZ won The Homicide Hustle, and Liz V. of Annapolis, MD won End Me a Tenor. The books went out in the mail yesterday.
To protect and serve. I think of police and firemen. So, this week's giveaways are mysteries featuring people in those jobs. Brad Parks writes one of my favorite series, the Carter Ross mysteries with Ross a reporter for the Newark-Eagle Examiner. Awakened by an early morning phone call, Ross goes to a widow's home, the widow of a policeman who was killed. When he's called off the story, he's told the man committed suicide. But Carter can't believe that a man with a job he loved, a beautiful wife, and plans for vacation with his children would kill himself. He believes in The Good Cop.
J.J. Cook launched a new series with That Old Flame of Mine, a terrific mystery. Chicago fire fighter Stella Griffin agrees to be acting chief in Sweet Pepper, Tennessee so she can train their volunteer fire fighters and bring them up to speed. But, the death of a powerful local woman leads Stella to suspect arson and begin an investigation. She doesn't have help from the local police, but she does have help from Eric Gamlyn, the ghost of Sweet Pepper's old fire chief.
Which mystery would you like to win? You can enter to win both, but I need separate entries. Email me at Lesa.Holstine@gmail.com. Your subject heading should read either "Win The Good Cop" or "Win That Old Flame of Mine." Please include your name and mailing address. Entries from the U.S. only please.
The contest will end Friday, May 10 at 6 PM Central Time.
