Follow-up - I find it very telling that Lane Smith's picture book, It's a Book, is only available in book form. It is a picture book, and my library has it in the children's collection. But, so many adults who are booklovers appreciate the humor and the slight digs in this book, things many children will not appreciate as much as adults. So, don't hesitate to pass it on to adults.This book is a little controversial in the review for children's books. It's designed for ages 4 to 8, but, there's a comment about a jackass, one of the characters, that causes the controversy. However, I have to say, as an adult watching the digital revolution, worrying about the future of books, I found Lane Smith's It's a Book wonderful. So, the best thing I can do for you is show you a clip from the book, and recommend it for adults. If you're a book reader, you should love it.

I read this book to my 9th graders after we finished reading Fahrenheit 451. It was very well received :)
