Mazda 3 Hatchback

No book blog today. I spent the entire day yesterday dealing with cars. I had a 1998 Toyota RAV4 that I loved, but it was starting to make suspicious noises. When I took it to the garage yesterday, they said it would be $1000.

I'd already been looking at a replacement. I didn't want to put $1000 into the car, and turn around and get rid of it. So, I went across county and bought a 2010 Mazda 3 Hatchback. I was close, but that $1000 pushed me over the edge, and the 0% financing finished the deal.

So, an entire day in garages ended my book blogging for the day. I have a headache, and I'm sitting with a cat, Josh.

Want to see my car?

Nice car, congratulations. Dealing with garages and cars can be something. Hope your headache gets better. Just listen to Josh "talk" and relax. Happy Sunday.

Thanks, Mason & Elizabeth. Not my favorite way to spend a Saturday, sitting in garages. And, I had a book in the morning, but didn't take one in the afternoon. Stupid, stupid, stupid. Always take a book!

I have one, love it! Functional, cute, zippy. And I added a performance exhaust package so it has a deep rumble to it, like a big motorcycle. Enjoy!

It's such a pain to buy a new car, but it's so much fun to own one! I hope you enjoy it.

A day in garage? That's so different for a regular reviewer...

Lesa said...

Thanks, Lynne. I hope I enjoy mine as much as you do.

I hope I enjoy it, too, Kathy.

And, Nikki. It's a pain that I forgot my book. And, my husband's death threw me off my reading, which is why I don't have a regular review today. It takes a while to come back from that.

That color? Ooooooo....

I've had both Mazdas and Toyotas and trust both. (My current vehicle is a Tribute.)

Thanks, Michael & Diane,

I think I'm going to be very happy with it. A little smaller than my RAV4, but can still haul cats if I need to. (smile)

Congratulations on the new car, Lesa! The buying process is awful, but driving a new car is fun, and if anyone deserves to have some fun, it's you. And I'm glad to hear it's big enough to haul kitties :-)

Hope Josh helped dissipate the headache - kitties are good at that.

Too cute! I bet it gets great gas mileage. In Idaho, gas is running us $3.07 a gallon right now. I'm charging the battery to my scooter right now so I can start riding it.

Enjoy, there's nothing that's as much fun as a new car!

What a cool-looking car, Lesa! In spite of the hassles, it's always such a thrill to drive off a car lot with a brand new car. Have fun.

Zoom, zoom! ;)

Thanks, Ingrid! I made sure I could take cats in that car. And, Josh, and a good night's sleep helped.

Bev, We're inching toward that 3.00 mark here. I actually have Jim's motorscooter in the garage. But, since it's bigger than some motorcycles, I'm going to be selling it soon, not riding it to save money. It's gorgeous, though!

You got it, Les! Zoom, zoom! And, it does, too.

Oooh, what kind of scooter?? I've been lusting after Vespas for a couple of years now. Not that I need an affordable ride since I have a MiniCooper. But still...

Les,

It's Chinese, and it's called a Roketa. And, if you go to this site, http://motorcycleviews.com/userreviews/revroketa.htm, the red one in the corner looks like Jim's.

Congrats on the new car it's sporty looking and I like it! It's always a challenge to deal with car problems and buying a new car.

Lesa said...

Thank you, Bonnie. I really like it so far. I'm sure I'll continue to like it.

Congrats on your new ride Lesa! I know we'll be in the market for a car soon. I'm getting tired of sharing my car with Cooper. What I'd like is a Mini Cooper, but I really do need 4WD up here in the winter. What color is your new car?

Lesa said...

Cindy,

My car is the color of the one in the picture. It's called Graphite Mica, which is a dark grey.

You're right. You need 4WD. And, someone who works with my sister said they love their Mazda 3, but it has a low clearance, so doesn't do well in snow. Like I care!

It's terrific, Lesa! Sporty, cute, and good on gas -- what could be better? Congrats on your new car!

Les said...

Not sure where Cindy lives, but I'm in Nebraska and we get snow and my Mini does just fine. The only time I'd be concerned is if your streets don't get plowed for a few days. I've never had any trouble getting around in my Mini. It handles better in the snow than my old Honda Accord!

Lesa said...

Thank you, Beth! I really like it, so far. I know I'm going to love it when I feel comfortable with a new car. I've been driving the Toyota for a long time.

Les - Cindy lives out in the country in Utah - lots and lots of snow. And, I do think they get straneded out there.

Congrats on the new car! I personally love driving new cars, lol! I have a 2005 Mazda 3 and love it, it's actually the first car that I've had for this long and still liked. Hope you like yours just as much. I wanted the color you got, but the dealer I went to didn't have it and they were giving me an awesome deal, so I ended up with silver.

Lesa said...

Kris,

That's great to hear that you still like your Mazda 3. I hope I like mine just as much, too! I took the awesome deal as well, so I'm glad they had my color. I like that new car smell, don't you?

Kris said...

I do love that new car smell. I resisted allowing my dog in the car for the longest time because I wanted it kept clean. The good thing is that she doesn't really like the fabric and prefers my husbands car. lol! I don't know if the fabric has changed..but I love the fabric in mine. It's not the same as other cars..and it's not leather. I have no idea what it is, but I love it.

Lesa said...

I had a really good salesman, Kris. I thought the seats only came in leather, from the websites I'd seen. But, he asked me if I wanted leather, which I did NOT in Arizona. So, he actually put me in a car that was a little cheaper without leather seats. I like the fabric in mine, but I don't know if it's what you have. We'll have to compare cars when you're here.
